Organizational Structure
The Ci2's organization is defined by its general regulation, which complies with the legal framework for Portuguese institutions dedicated to scientific research and technological development. Ci2 is part of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) and has autonomy over scientific activities. The Ci2 structure planned for 2025-2029 will consider the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) as a management institution.
The following coordination, management, and administrative bodies support the Ci2 activity:
- One Scientific Coordinator, referred to as the Director, appointed by the President of the IPT among the full-time professors or equivalent positions.
- One Vice-Director, appointed by the Director from the team of integrated researchers.
- Board of Directors, includes the Director, the Vice-Director, and three integrated researchers appointed by the Director, one of whom must be from CEU, serving as a bridge for better interaction between the two entities.
- A Scientific Council comprises all integrated members and collaborators holding a doctoral degree.
- A Scientific Advisory Board, made up of a minimum of five and a maximum of nine specialists and individuals from outside Ci2, both national and foreign, selected for their recognized scientific competence and professional experience in the key scientific areas or domains of Ci2.
