Ana C. V. Vieira received the Electrical Engineering diploma and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 1996 and 2004 respectively. At the same university, in 2014 she completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering, area of specialization in energy, in the domain of Asset and Maintenance Management. Since September 2021, she is an Adjunct Professor at Coimbra Institute of Engineering at the Polytechnic of Coimbra. Until that date, for more than 22 years, she was an Adjunct Professor/Lecturer at the Tomar School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT), Portugal, where she was a member of the Departmental Engineering Unit. She was also a professor at the University of Algarve between 1996 and 1999. Her teaching interests cover assets and maintenance management, air quality and energy performance in buildings, energy efficiency, energy savings and power quality, production management and quality, electronics, and databases. She is a member of the Portuguese Engineers’ Order since 2008 and a member of the Portuguese Industrial Maintenance Association since 2000, where she was Secretary of the Supervisory Board until 2022. She has been a researcher collaborator at the Smart Cities Research Center (Ci2) at IPT, and a PhD Researcher at CISE (Electromechatronic Systems Research Centre), since 2015. Since 199 and 2014 she was a collaborating researcher at the Energy Systems Group of the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). Her research interests include indoor air quality, energy and maintenance management, maintenance audits, and maintenance strategies in asset management.
