Eugénio Pina de Almeida

Eugénio Almeida completed his PhD in Geophysical Sciences and Geoinformation in 2010 at the University of Lisbon. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, having carried out research in the field of Earth Sciences, with a particular focus on the use of electromagnetic methods in the geophysical prospecting of shallow and deep structures and in the modelling and application of numerical methods for the solution of direct and inverse problems in geo-electromagnetism. He is currently a researcher at the Smart Cities Research Centre (CI2) of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar. His current research interests are monitoring the effect of climate change on variations in temperature, precipitation, atmospheric humidity and wind intensity and their impact on the occurrence of forest fires, based on the measurement of the moisture content of fine combustibles (FMC), and the development of forest fire prevention models.
