Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) since November 1998, she joined the teaching profession in September 1990. Between 1988 and 1990, she worked in the Platex (IFM) industry, taking part in the design, purchase of equipment and assembly of the new production line. In 1990 he worked in the materials department at Cablesa (General Motors). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 1987, obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Sciences from the University of Coimbra in 1993, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieur d'Arts et Métiers de Paris in 2004. His scientific research deals with the analysis of tribological behavior and transformations in the surface layers of materials. She has contributed to research into control charts for the study of quality control in industrial processes, environmental protection through waste recovery, and computer models to develop tools to improve human activities. She has been involved in several projects since 1991, with the University of Coimbra, with the Ceramics and Glass Technology Center, with the École Nationale Supérior d'Arts et Métiers de Paris, between 2017 and 2019 in the Valorbio Project, in the recovery of waste through modular constructed wetlands, between 2022 and 2023, in the STRONG Project, and recently, in the SOLAR Project. At IPT, he is a full member of the IPT Smart Cities Study Center (Ci2), a member of the Board of the Engineering Departmental Unit (UDEng), and of the Coordinating Committee of the Master's Degree in Chemical Technology. She was a member of the IPT General Council between 2010 and 2019, and director of the Mechanical Engineering Degree between 2014 and 2019. She has been a member of the Jury of public recruitment contests for Coordinating Professor in the areas of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Marine Machinery Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
